The BC got kind of warm, and didn’t work. It is off the chart, it is a bad sign for this situation.

My previous, sort-of dagasheet question is here: There are huge differences: I have a circuit in which the C aka 2SC transistor failed after many years. It depends on your batch.

Can you clarify position of additional 10R resistor? So, transistor could overheat by high Vce or Ic. Is it possible that there is another problem which caused your transistor to fail and which makes your new transistor hot?

I Googled about, and tried to replace it with a BC Adding schematic to show what I mean: This is from BC datasheet: So, is there something ‘special’ about the C trannies? Sign up or log in Sign up using Google. Suitable replacement for 2SC transistor? Hi there Chupacabras, when I replace it with a good Datasyeet the whole circuit works just fine. This dataheet from 2SC datasheet: Home Questions Tags Users Unanswered.

Now look in the datasheets to compare those two transistors what is the Vce for such current. Base current is not a problem, it is limited by R to 4. Well, it’s whether excessive base current, or excessive product of Ic datashheet Vce.

But it will be lower, say it is mA. What could cause transistor to overheat?

But you can see that in some situations there are differences between BC and 2SC Post as a guest Name. Thanks for that, but just want to clarify where do I put the resistor?

How do you know that your transistor is the only problem in your dwtasheet Email Required, but never shown. This would severely limit the lifetime of an already stressed component. Vce would be much higher than 1. When I replace it with a BC, the circuit doesn’t work at all. The switching transistor shouldn’t go into daatasheet. Hi, Attila, thanks so much for prompt reply. What type of voltage booster circuit is this? If not, you have to take out a good oscilloscope and look at the waveforms.

Seeing that your circuit has no feedback daatsheet anywhere on the 2SC, I would suggest to try adding a 10R resistor in the base of the 2SC resp BC after the 22R resistor that goes to the feedback path and see whether that improves the ddatasheet. Hence a load at its emitter or collector can cause it to have a negative impedance at its base.

This is being used in a flyback circuit, which switches at approx ummm kHz or so. By using our site, you acknowledge that you have read and understand our Cookie PolicyPrivacy Policyand our Terms of Service.

I have short-term access to another C – putting that in the circuit works just fine, so I know the transistor is the issue. BC hFE from to It datashdet take too much space to explain the exact mechanism here, but the gist is, the transistor acts as an impedance conversion element c20001 high frequencies due to beta being frequency dependent.

So power dissipation would be mW, which is above maximum allowed power dissipation. Another relevant difference could be in hFE. Thanks, any help appreciated!
