Each table axis had a ruler hobbynat as part of the standard equipment. I think what you need to do is determine if you NEED more cutting force at the expense of this rapid speed. Ground stock would be better if you have some.
Hence, should the column prove to be out of line in a fore and aft direction, the only solution is to shim the bracket mounting faces at the top or bottom.

Warco are Chinese but apparently they are made to the specs agreed and quality control imposed by the UK supplier and have quite a strong following. DRO kit off eBay I bought my kit from seller motor-mall. As I installed the scale right-way-up with the reading head at the topI felt I needed more protection for the hobbhmat than the yellow plastic strip that opens and closes around the head as it travels up and down the scale.

I took the top two parts of the table off and laid them upside-down on a sheet of plate glass, and then aligned and punched holes in both parts of the table to mount the scales. The dial is now difficult but not impossible to read, however I have not found this to be an issue, as I now have DROs!
